YouTube has a lot to offer, entertainment, instructions, events, and speeches, whatever. For a library YouTube could be used to give how-to – use of an online catalog, a demo of online resources, a guided tour of the library. I liked the ease of embedding a video from YouTube into my blog.
I would use podcasting for simple instruction. The podcast that gave instruction on using the online catalog did not hold my attention. Instruction of this nature should be on a video (YouTube).

MLA Course Week 6
I like using Flickr and think that it is a great method to share photos with co-workers and friends. Blogger should have a method to indicate a picture has been uploaded.

MLA COURSE Week 5
The concept of web hosted services is a good idea, but should one put all of their eggs in one basket. Zoho has several applications, Goggle Docs does not offer a full suite and Microsoft Office Live lacks total integration with Office, but there seem to be incompleteness about these web applications. The need for persistent internet connection as a requirement for web hosted services is of great concern. I would like to see these services developed to another level.

MLA Course Week 4
Social Bookmarking is an ideal tool for a person that moves from computer to computer, travel and or share a computer with a family member. We must include computer technicians and heaven forbid the crashed hard drive. Also, it is a great collaboration tool. I read an article on Friday and saved it on Saturday only to discover that it has been saved by 1,425 other individuals.
MLA Course Week 3
MLA can use social networking to make members aware of its events, and activities. Should my library have a Facebook or MySpace page? Hum! I can see making available the online catalog via Facebook or MySpace, as well as events and announcements.
I think there are privacy concerns for individuals using social networking sites. The sites should not ask for date of birth and your mobile telephone should not be used as verification
I liked the ability to add applications and did not necessary like the grouping.

MLA Course Week 2
Blog vs Wiki. A Blog is a website created by an individual containing opinions, events information, and instructions. Comments are submitted by readers. A Wiki is a collection of webpages derived from individual authorized to contribute and modify it content.
Opinions are better suited for a blog, and instructions (particularly were collaboration is necessary) are better suited for a wiki.
